Scott Bax Joins Enviva As Executive VP & COO

After announcing its emergence from Chapter 11 bankruptcy on December 6, 2024, 20 years after the company’s founding, Enviva has added Soctt Bax to its Executive Team, making him Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer overseeing all 10 plants currently in operation in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida.

No stranger to industrial wood pellet production operations, Bax joined Enviva earlier this summer. According to the announcement, he will play a pivotal role in driving operational discipline and fostering a strong safety culture across the operational fleet. His continuous improvement track record brings a wealth of experience leading manufacturing organizations in the forest products and renewable energy sectors to the company.

Bax has dove headfirst into his new role, saying he’s excited to be a part of the future for Enviva. An industry veteran whose career has always had a focus on safety, Bax, as part of Enviva’s membership in the United States Industrial Pellet Assn. (USIPA), now leads the USIPA Safety Working Group.

Bax previously held executive and managerial positions with industrial pellet producers Pinnacle, Peak Renewables and CM Biomass. Before that he had more than 20 years of forestry experience with various forestry and wood manufacturing operations throughout Canada and the U.S. as well as a number of years working as a performance improvement consultant specializing in the forest sector.
