Texas-based Tang Energy has purchased the closed NextEra cogeneration plant in Greenville, Me., with plans to reopen the facility as Gallop Power Greenville as a subsidiary. NextEera closed the plant in March 2009 and put it up for sale. Tang Energy acquired it in November and has already re-hired many of the employees who were laid off. The plant consumes more than 180,000 tons of wood chips annually.
